James is an accomplished professional in the field of arboriculture, with a particular focus on the interactions between insects and trees and urban forestry. Drawing on his extensive academic and practical experience in arboriculture, ecology, and field biology, James is adept at bridging the gap between theory and practice in urban forestry. As a Consulting Arborist, James is skilled at performing tree data collection and assessments, value appraisals, mitigation and preservation plans, and interpreting the data in a concise and accessible manner for various stakeholders, including community groups, government agencies, owners, and contractors.

James is also a published author and former instructor at Mohawk College, where he shared his knowledge and expertise with the next generation of arborists. He is the lead author of Integrated Pest Management: A Framework for Pest Management in Nursery Crop Production Manual, which demonstrates his in-depth understanding of the complex relationships between insects, trees, and other plant species. James has provided expert testimony at the Ontario Land Tribunal and in legal matters related to trees, further highlighting his expertise and reputation in the field. James' passion and dedication for arboriculture and urban forestry are evident in his work, and his ability to provide practical and effective solutions has contributed to the success of numerous urban forestry initiatives.
